Granted

Stop and Smell the FLOWERS!

There are some moments that are not really noteworthy but I can take for granted... I am sure glad that I have two healthy and happy boys and that they love to "hep" their Mommy! It makes me think about having to slow down so fun memories can be made. I cherish these moments even if it would be easier to do them on my own; they are even better when I can share them with my boys. I don't want to take for granted each day we are given, each moment we share, and the "hep" (help in Scottie language) that may teach them how to be better men when they grow up...

We had a good time at Christmas this year. Stephen enjoyed opening all the gifts like any 4 year old would but I was suprised how excited he was to give gifts also! I have a good boy for sure! Scott loved unwrapping things and pulling out tissue paper. He could care less what was in the packages...Dad, Bobbie Mom, Caleb and Christiana came to our house later that morning to exchange gifts... We played a great joke on Momma and Dad. We gave them checks towards large ticket items but to find them they had to unpack a huge box, get through all the junk and then find out that there were many envelopes on the bottom for them to open and choose the correct one. It was a fun time and hope to start the practical jokes again!
We headed to Northern VA for our family get-together with extended family with dinner at Uncle Chris's house and dessert at Uncle Roger's house. We enjoyed seeing everyone and spending the day together.
Later that week we went to MeMe's house for New Year's get together. We haven't been to see the Ohio family in 3 years so we made the
decision since Peter already had the time off to travel up there and we had a great time. While up there, Scottie got his first haircut from his Great Grandma MeMe. It was sad to see his beautiful long curls go but I was ready to stop hearing from his Daddy and brother that he had "girl hair." This was special not only for that fact but also because Stephen received his first haircut from her also. We also went bowling, to the movies on our first date without the boys, and watched lots of football. This was a special time and will stay in our hearts forever!
