Strausburg

I love my Goofy Boy!!

We went to Strausburg today to Shaun's 9 month check up and then went to BK after for some play time and food. Shaun put on a few ounces since last Tuesday, from 15 lbs. 40z to 15 lbs. 10oz. We are happy with his gain and will continue to try and get lots of high caloric foods in him. Hope the next weight is in the 16's! His length was 30 inches~ which puts him in the 95 percentile! Way to grow, Shaun!

Scottie had a blast at BK. He just loved jumping on the bubbling floor. It was so fun to watch him just be a 3 year old, not trying to catch up to anyone. I love these precious moments with my son. Hope it makes you smile as much as I did.

Baseball season starts!

Spring Baseball started this weekend! Stephen was so excited as he learned that he would be on the Blue Claws in the machine pitch league. This is a step up from last year in tee ball. He has one guy from his team (the Bats) named Porter on his team again this year. He is looking forward to the season and the practices.

Little league held a clinic for the younger kids this past Saturday. Stephen worked on base running, catching and throwing, hitting and learned more of the rules of baseball. (tee ball has a whole set of rules that are different from baseball~ like there are no outs and everyone hits.)
Scottie had a friend at the park, a family from Church, that we play with a lot. They had a good time playing swords with sticks and eating snacks while they watched their big brothers play baseball.

We are looking forward to this season, watching Stephen learn the game he loves so much since he was a toddler. His practices are Friday nights and Saturday afternoons until the season starts. Look for more baseball updates!!

UVA trip #4, MRI #2

We headed down to UVA again to take Shaun for a more in depth study of his brain and how it metabolizes oxygen and sugar. I was blessed to have the boys taken care of by a great friend and Granddaddy while we were gone. Alisha came with me on this hike and once again I was blessed by the Lord as He knew just who I needed to come with me. We were supposed to go back for the MRI with spectroscopy at 1:15 and finally made it back there around 4:30. This whole time and since 7 in the morning, Shaun had been fasting. It was difficult to not let him eat as he didn't understand but he was a champ. Alisha wore him for most of the time since when he came to me he would want to eat. He doesn't just go to anyone so it was fantastic to have her there.
During our time waiting, Shaun made a new friend, Zac.We also met up with a long time friend of Alisha's, Lori, who lives close Charlottesville. It was great to meet her as now we have somewhere to stay if we need in the future! God is good.
We took Shaun back for the procedure and while waiting there the ophthalmologist we saw the week before just happened to stop by. I made sure with him of the appointment that we have next week (which was scheduled wrong~ Yea, God! again) and Shaun jumped into his arms as to say "I remember you!" Dr. Scruggs loved it and I assured him he was back on Shaun's good list.
They then took Shaun back for the MRI and we left to get something to eat. They were not going to put him on a breathing tube but just a mask unless it was necessary and when the doctor came out, he said that it had been necessary and Shaun had a slight reaction to the anesthesia causing him breathing difficulties and irregularities so they had to tube him. We then spent some time in the PACU as they wanted to monitor him before we traveled home. We had some great nurses and it was fun to talk to them. They all thought Shaun was a ham. He ate and ate, and then ate some more! It was fantastic! Finally we departed for home around 8:30 and ended our trip at 11 (12 hours later).

Next trip to UVA~ March 21....

Fun at Aunt Alisha's

Enjoying the Spring weather

The last two days we didn't have many appointments and it was beautiful outside. We enjoyed some good time in the park and Scottie had a blast in the sandbox and running around playing hide and seek with me and Shaun. Enjoy some spring photos!

Tubes

Don't tell my Daddy, I was pretty in pink! (It was the only color they had in my size)
All went well and hopefully the tubes will keep the ear infections away!
