6 Months Old

Shaun is half way to his birthday!! We are enjoying this child so much... Now if we could just keep him healthy. With an ear infection and bronchiolitis this Thanksgiving, we will be trying to get well. Shaun is now eating some more solids, rolling both back to front, and front to back, working on sitting (although haven't mastered it yet) putting his passy in his own mouth and loving playing with his brothers. I know these next few months will sure fly by and have lots of changes... We love you, Shaun!

Mommy Powers

It's terrible being sick, especially when you have to miss school, don't get to give your teachers the books you made, and feel horrible. Poor Stephen woke up in the middle of the night burning up (102* temp) and has continued the fever and vomiting this morning. His only request? Can you use your Mommy Powers and cuddle me? What a sweet boy. These are the days I am thankful that I am a stay at home mom and can give my boy just what he wants... ME! I pray this bug passes quickly and doesn't spread to any one else!

It's Begining to look a lot like Christmas....

(don't judge me on the dust... at least I got the picture!)

Stephen and Scottie were able to hang their ornaments this year
(thanks to mom not being to strict this year about where things go...)

Shaun is enamored with the lights...
Santa's little helper???
Scottie loves the manger scene (anything to do with guys...)

As we are getting ready for the 2011 Holiday season, I am reminded of the real meaning of the season... It is fun with all the presents, shopping, family gatherings and tree trimming, but this year, remember Jesus is the real reason for the season...

Luke 2:8-14

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Merry Christmas to you from the Steyaert Family!

Happy Birthday my 6 year old!!!

Today was Stephen's birthday. Just as the year he was born we celebrate the day after the feast. Its hard to believe that 6 years has gone by since God blessed my life with his, renewed my chances at motherhood, and asked for my trust back once again. In these six years, God has taught me to trust Him fully, with all our children, but started with this blessing of our first born son, Stephen Andrew ~ all 7lbs. 6 oz. and 20 1/2 inches of baby boy. He has grown into a fine boy, one that is inquisitive, fun, loving, sweet, humble and cuddly. He desires to do what is right, wants to be humble, loves Jesus (who lives in his heart), tries his hardest, loves school, and is a great big brother. We are so blessed to have him as our son. I can't wait to see what this year holds for him and to watch him continue to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.
We celebrated his birthday this year at my Dad's house, on Thanksgiving. I made him a special cake, we sang to him and he was able to open a couple of gifts from Great Granddad and Grammy Pat, Granddad and Grandmama, Christiana and Caleb.
Today, November 25, we started the day with cereal as that is what he wanted to eat, opened presents from Mom and Dad, Grandpa Steyaert, Scottie, Great Grammy Jo, and Grandma Mari and Tim. He was totally into Star Wars this year so I made him a Star Wars cake that we ate the night before. Peter and Grandpa Steyaert took him out to fly the toy plane for a while this afternoon and Shaun, Scott and I went for a walk. We took him out to dinner at CiCi's~ his favorite, and his buddy Michael and his family joined us. It was a good night.
Happy 6th Birthday, Stephen!!

Fun at the Waterpark

Peter took us as a family to Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg VA. It is an indoor water park and since it is hard to find stuff to do in the winter for Stephen's birthday, we decided to have our family go there for his celebration. Peter was amazing there. He just played with the kids, showed them how to do all the stuff, and watched them mess around in the little kids park. He watched Shaun so Mom could go and enjoy some of the big kid rides and Stephen even rode one with me and one with Dad. Scottie went down a double tube with both Peter and me also. We had a great weekend get-away! Totally worth it!

Shaun Is 5 Months!

How time is flying... Next is the 6 month milestone... Look at the difference 5 months makes! Shaun is rolling over from the back to front, playing with toys, pulling hair, giving sweet kisses and loving life. He also got to experience his first snow, bites of cereal, square dance, and dressed as a pumpkin for trick-or-treating. I hope you love these pics of our growing boy! He was off the charts for height at 27 inches long and weighed 13 lbs. 8 oz. ! Keep on truckin' baby!
