Skating Fun
We had a blast this past Thursday going roller skating! Both boys took to it quickly, and mom remembered how to skate like I did back in the day. Its like riding a bike. You just get going on it again once your balance is back. So it was Christian Family Skate night at Winchester roller rink and many of our friends were attending so we thought we would join in. It was difficult at first trying to have 2 boys hold on to me for dear life as this was the first time they really were on skates on a slippery floor. Stephen then decided he would rather hang on to his big friends and skate with them or play air hockey on the side while Scottie, my dare devil, put up a big fight to holding onto my hand and had to do it "All my meslef". It was precious to watch them learn a new trick and I promise to bring my camera next time. All I have for today are some blurry pics taken from my camera phone, but they will have to do!! They have Christian Skate night every Thursday, so I think we will make it a habit of supporting this effort! The boys will be skating circles around me before I know it! Hope you are making new memories this year with your family and finding new adventures to try your hand at too!

Happy 2011!!
Happy New Year from the Steyaert Family!
We had a great New Year's Day celebrating 2011 with some of our family. Grammy and Granddad Cole came up for food, fun and football. Aunt Cheri and Uncle Roger also came up and shared a meal with us and Caleb and
Christiana, my brother and sister, were here as well. We had lots of good food, ringing in the new year with both the northern dishes of Pork and apple sour kraut and the southern, ham and black eyed peas. We had lots of great desserts, one that I made, called chocolate raspberry cookie trifle.
It wasn't only good but pretty to look at too!
The highlight of the day though was when I was putting Scott down to bed for a nap. That sounds bad but during the time that I was holding him, I felt the baby kick for the first time! This was really special because this was the day that our miscarried baby would have been due. God redeemed the day for me! He is so good! I look forward to more fun memories with this pregnancy and the birth of our 4th child this year.
Other big events that I know about for this coming year will be Stephen will start kindergarden in August, and probably play on his first sports teams of baseball and soccer, Steph and Jarrod will come home for the summer with Marc, Caleb will be back for a few weeks before he starts his Senior year at the Air Force Academy and will find out if he will get a pilot spot, Scottie will be a big brother for the first time, get potty trained and move into a big boy bed, I will celebrate my 30th birthday, and Peter will have more motorcycle adventures. I am truly looking forward to this year and all the fun and memories we will have in store. Keep posted!
Hope this year is filled with joy, laughter and love to all.
