Stephen with his biggest fan!

We have finally had a couple of baseball games! The weather has held off or dried out enough that Stephen has played in 3 games. Stephen is on a t-ball team called the Bats. His favorite position is "the pitcher's mount" and he also likes to catch! It is the perfect combination if you ask me. He is so excited when it is baseball day and looks forward to playing. He is hitting the ball well, can throw pretty far, and is working on catching. He is just loving his first experience with organized sports!
This is one of Stephen's favorite parts, saying "Good game" and slapping hands!
He doesn't just run through the base, he jumps on it!
Just look at his form!! A chip off the old block!

T-ball is not just an experience for him, but for his parents too! There are no outs, everyone bats, everyone runs all the bases... which is a little hard for Daddy since he enjoys watching Major League baseball. But it is instilling the basic principles of the game, run to first, then second, third and home, throw to first, keep your eye on the ball, don't be scared of the ball, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and other great baseball qualities so they will be prepared to go up to the next league. This will be a fun season, as I love to watch Stephen play a game he loves, get to know some new kids (and parents), and learn new skills. Keep watching for more updates on baseball!

Spring fun

We went to a Meet up today with other stay at home moms and had a great time. We made some cute bird's nests out of chocolate, either chow mein or coconut, jelly beans and Peeps birds. It made for a cute (and yummy) craft! Stephen made his out of the chow mein and Scottie made his out of the coconut. We played outside as it was a sunny day, and had some good times on the swing set. It was a fun morning!

When we got home we played outside and I realized how beautiful the flowers were. We had fun taking pictures with the beautiful tulips.

Happy Spring!!

A new Drama!!

This past week I had another doctor's appointment and was going to have another ultrasound to make sure baby was growing healthily. Grammy Pat and Granddad was able to join me for this one as I thought it would be super special to share the moments with them as they witnessed their 9th great- grandchild (or so) growing. During the ultrasound the technician asked if I already new the sex of the baby after taking lots of measurements showing that "he" was growing appropriately. I said that we thought we were having a boy, but could you confirm that? She looked and looked, had me go to the bathroom, move to various positions, all that she could to see if she would be able to confirm the "boy" but after 40 minutes, she was not able to confirm! Oh man! We have "his" room all set up already! We only have boy clothes! We are not prepared for a girl, and now what is she telling me??? She can't confirm a boy? SO does that mean we are having a girl? Not exactly. Baby Steyaert is head up, bottom in pelvis, with spine toward the outside.. not exactly the easiest to see between the legs, especially at 31 weeks. She could see the bladder, kidneys, and other parts but there just were not "boy parts" where something should be. She said that if it was her guess that she would not say we were having a boy... but she was not saying we were having a girl either... So now we have a mystery... which is super fun but... I just gotta know! With any luck, maybe in 2 weeks we will be able to find out... She said after my next appointment to see if she was busy and if not, she will try to take another peek... Until then, my mind is blown and I am back to about 60-40 that we are having another little boy. I do know that I am blessed with great friends, that said in the chance that we have a little girl, they will have a party to help me redecorate the room for a little princess... What about names?? I don't even have one thought of. What about clothes? I got rid of most of my girl things when we were told this was a boy. What about raising a girl?I don't know how to have tea parties and frilly dresses and Barbies. But alas, I don't have to go there yet. This saga will either be put to rest next appointment, April 27th, or we will just be having a surprise on June 10th!

Whoever you are I will love you with all of my heart!

Fun with Granddad

I had the opportunity to have my little sister stay over with us when she had a day off of school and Dad needed to work. We had a good night and the next day after jumping on the tramp and playing some Wii, we headed down to Woodstock to get Christiana to her birthday party. We dropped her off at the Stonybrooke Skating Rink and Granddaddy joined us there. We were able to play putt-putt golf, Stephen lighting up the greens and Scottie trying to keep up with his brother and Granddad helping teach correct putting technique to a 2 year old ;) !! They played some in the ball pit and tunnels, then played for a bit in the arcade. Stephen challenged Granddad to an air hockey game~ Stephen's favorite. We topped it off eating out at a Chinese buffet in Strausburg. It was a fun night and many memories made. Its also a good thing this place is in Woodstock, not close by so the boys can't get there too often!

Taking after Mommy

The last practice we had was a blast... The kids scrimmaged another team and this time we put on all the gear, learned what a batting order was, how to rotate on the field, run through bases and just how to play a t-ball game. Coach asked the kids who would like to play catcher for an entire inning and only two kids volunteered... One was Stephen!! I was so excited because that was my position when I played Little League and I think he enjoyed himself... (although the mask was a little big and it made it hard for him to see!) We will see if we have another catcher in our midst or if he will go back to his love since he was 2 years old... PITCHING! I look forward to this weekend as it is Opening Day on Saturday and we have our first official game (well at least as far as t-ball goes)... there are no outs, no scores, and everyone bats and runs the bases. I will be interested in seeing how Peter handles it since he is such a competitive spirit! Looking forward to this season and seeing how much Stephen improves his skills!

Training my boys right...

Scottie loves helping me clean the bathrooms... especially when Stephen is preoccupied with something else. He then gets to spray and wipe the mirrors. He is so eager to help. I just have to remember that these tender moments are training him to help his wife in the future, teaching him responsibility, and helping me to take the time to slow down and enjoy the sweetness my children want to bless me with. Sometimes its easier to "just do it myself" but in those moments I want to try and remember these life lessons. Thanks, Scottie!

Faces of Scottie...

Scottie was having one of those days.... and Mommy was playing with her camera!
I love my boy!
